Xixi National Wetland Park is the first of its kind in China and the only state-level wetland park in a city. The park open to the public in 2005. Xixi National Wetland Park features abundant ecological resources, beautiful natural scenes and rich cultural heritages. Water is the soul of Xixi wetland. Water area covers 70% of the whole park which is crisscrossed by six rivers and dotted with numerous ponds, pools, lakes and swamps, forming the unique wetland landscape. We can also take a boat to appreciate the beauty of this ecological wetland park. The park has set a good example on striking the balance between environment protection and economic development. The opening of the Wetland Park will surely make more and more people realize the great importance of wetland conversation.
