Fan making is a traditional industry in Hangzhou. Early in the Song Dynasty, the city was already making some of the best fans in the country. Wangxingji is a traditional Fan-making factory, was set up in 1875, and the skills for making fans have been listed in the national intangible culture heritage protection. In 2012, Wangxingji was become the base of ‘UNESCO’s global creative city network “City of folk art”.We will bring you to this factory where you can enjoy the history of fan, watch the fan-making process and have a change to make a fan of your own. |

Experience the fan culture 1. Visit the assemble line and art masters’ studio, enjoy the most exquisite fan-making process (40min) 2. Visit the fan culture museum (40 min)
Wangxingji fan factory is known as the biggest fan factory in China. It produces 13 main categories, including over 300 kinds with nearly 2000 different designs. In one word, this factory produces all kinds of fans except the electric fans. 3.Making a fan of your own (70min) With the guidance of the fan teacher, you will have a change to make a fan of your own. 4. If you are interested in ,you can purchase some fan products in the gift shop (30min) |
